Anand Nandakumar

Founder and CEO

Anand founded Halo to help people get around more conveniently, reduce the number of cars on the road (therefore reducing carbon emissions), and to accelerate humanity's shift from gasoline-powered vehicles towards electric vehicles! Prior to founding Halo, Anand led the perception team at Uber’s self-driving division where he oversaw the deep learning imaging research teams. Anand has led trailblazing technology divisions at Sony, Disney, Vodafone, and others.

Cass Mao

Chief Strategy Officer

Cass Mao is the Chief Strategy Officer of Halo where she leads growth and go-to-market. Her background includes executive leadership in NGOs, leading growth and marketing in a number of startups and venture investing. She was a founding Venture Partner at Tenacious Ventures, a seed stage agtech fund, and Entrepreneur in Residence at Main Sequence Ventures, a $500m research commercialisation fund. Cass is a trained Climate Reality Leader, the Vice Chair of the Las Vegas Global Shapers, and was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 in 2020.

Fun fact: Cass is a certified freediving instructor and on a good day can hold her breath for four and a half minutes.

Bill Reeves

Head of Hardware

Bill has over 20 years of experience in the product development industry and fifteen years in the transportation industry. He led the mechanical engineering group at Proterra, where he developed a fully electric transit bus with an automated charging system, for which he holds patents. Bill then led the engineering team at Boulder Electric Vehicle to develop an electric delivery van aimed at replacing diesel-powered delivery vehicles. At Halo, Bill brings his extensive electromechanical engineering experience to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions. Bill enjoys driving engineering for companies and products that make a difference and leave a long-term impact on society.

Fun fact: Bill is an avid mountain biker and raced 24 hours of Moab three years in a row.

Mithun Manivannan

Software Lead

Mithun graduated from UIUC in 2015 and worked in SF as a software engineer before moving to Georgia where he led Opendoor’s Atlanta engineering office. Mithun is motivated by the opportunity to change the way people rent cars, and to wrest control of cities back from parking lots!

Fun Fact: Mithun has two pet rabbits, Odie and Moo Moo, who collectively weigh 12 pounds.

Nabeel Sherazi

Autonomy Engineer

Background: Nabeel is an autonomy engineer specializing in verifiable reinforcement learning for safety critical applications. He also does just a little bit of everything else.

Fun Fact: When not asleep with his printout of ARP4754A, he can be found at local poetry slams, listening, or trying to teach someone how to make the perfect omelet.

Yash Shah

Hardware Engineering Intern

Jumping from an industrial electronics background to pursue a dream of working on cars. I believe that it’s relatively easy to make something, the challenge is to make it better than everybody else making the same thing.

Matthew Larck

Remote Pilot

Matthew is on the Remote Pilot Team, where he works in the midst of operations at Halo.car.  He served in the military as a Helicopter Crew-Chief from 2011-2015. Matthew is finishing up his undergraduate degree in IT Management and is planning to apply for an MBA Program in 2023.    
                                                           
Fun Fact: When Matthew is not working or studying, you can find him at a poker table in Las Vegas winning money to pay for his education.

Rishabh Satish Changwani

Robotics Software Engineering Intern

Background: Rishabh is originally from Mumbai, India but currently pursuing his graduate studies at the University at Buffalo, New York. He currently lives in Las Vegas and works closely with the Halo team. He completed his BTech in Mechatronics which led him to pursue a Master’s of Science in Robotics. He’s excited about working at Halo because he believes that EV’s are undoubtedly the future, and there is nothing more enjoyable than being part of building the future. At Halo he gets to work on his true passion. It is an awesome work environment and it constantly presents me with brand new challenges. It is incredible when your hobbies and passions become your work.

Fun Fact: I’m a big foodie, and have tried over 20 cuisines!

Mike Dillion

Software engineer

Mike graduated from University of Delaware in 2017, and worked in ground robotics and lidar processing for a few years before finding Halo. He’s motivated by the opportunity to change the way people think about renting cars, and to help push the world toward a greener tomorrow!

Aaditya Khare

Hardware Engineering Intern

Electronics and Telecom Engineer pursuing a graduate degree in Robotics at The University at Buffalo. Prior experience in hands-on design and manufacturing along with working with embedded systems drove me towards pursuing Robotics as a career. I have always advocated the principle of solutioning the most simple paths to a problem in engineering and Halo has been the same with their lean processes in this competitive startup environment resonating with me.

Fun Fact: I always have some interesting t-shirts on!

Ryan Castellano

Hardware Engineer

Ryan joined Halo one month after graduating with his Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from UNLV. He is responsible for testing and designing the car's electronic systems.

Fun Fact: Ryan has only had one cup of coffee in his life.

Akshay Bajaj

Software Engineer

Akshay is an autonomy software developer specializing in control systems, sensor fusion, developing safety critical autopilot systems and the automated risk analysis systems for Unmanned Vehicles. When not developing, you can find him brainstorming new ideas, working with teams, and extinguishing daily fires to move the projects forward.

Fun Fact: When not tinkering with his drones, he can be found doing local modeling gigs.
